Background on Washington Trauma Cost Study
The Office of Emergency Medical Services & Trauma System (OEMS&TS) at the Washington State Department of Health contracted with Navigant Consulting Inc. to perform a comprehensive financial study of the Washington State Trauma System. The recommendation to perform and fund a new trauma cost study from the Trauma Care Fund was made by the EMS & Trauma Steering Committee. The completed study, which was released on December 21, 2007, focused on trauma costs and funding for hospital, rehabilitation, physician, and prehospital trauma services.
